RollerPredict - Weld line detection and spring back compensation system
Start date: October 1, 2024
Completion date: September 30, 2027
Eligible SeaPower investment: € 292,512.00
The RollerPredict Project aims to address deficiencies in tube bending equipment by developing a new approach to the process through the use of advanced automation and computational tools.
Thus, this project envisages the development and integration of new peripheral modules into equipment already developed by members of the consortium. These advanced modules will focus on dimensional control through computer vision tools; automatic positioning of welded tubes in the equipment through automatic identification of the weld line using non-destructive techniques such as Eddy currents; and integration of numerical and artificial intelligence models for predicting and compensating for the springback phenomenon.
The integration of these modules together with the use of closed-loop control strategies will enable significant progress in terms of process automation as well as the efficient use of raw materials and energy by reducing iterations in the manufacturing process and the percentage of non-conforming parts.
